Richard C. Grismer, age 62 of Valparaiso passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital, Dyer.  He was born on April 1, 1948 in Bloomington, IN to Philip and Arabelle (Carter) Grismer.  Richard worked as a HIV Prevention Supervisor for the Aliveness Project of NWI and was a member of MCC Illiana in Portage.  Richard is survived by his sister, Nancy (Terry) Paarlberg of Valparaiso and brother, Thomas Grismer of Seattle, WA.  He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father, Jack Hoyt.
Cremation will take place at Angelcrest Crematory, Valparaiso with private family service.
