Sandra Schnick, 71, of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at Porter Hospital with her family by her side.  She was born February 19, 1939 in Gary the daughter of Matthew & Zola (Miller) Dorin and graduated from Lew Wallace High School.  Sandy was an impeccable housekeeper and gardener who took great pleasure in feeding the hummingbirds and squirrels that frequented her home.  Only her grandchildren took priority over her quiet and orderly lifestyle.
On August 23, 1957 she married Frank Schnick who survives along with their children: Suzanne (David) Hall of Jackson Township, Edward (Laura) Schnick of Valparaiso, brother, John Dorin of Valparaiso and grandchildren: Zach & Ethan Hall, Anthony Joseph McLinn, Cayley Marie, Makenna Marie & Carter Daniel Schnick.  Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Matthew Dorin, Jr.
A funeral service will be held Sunday 2:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, Deaconess Kristin Lewis officiating with cremation to follow.  Visitation Sunday from 12 – 2 PM.  A private burial of ashes will take place at Beatty Cemetery.
