Charles L. “Charlie” Cook, 97, of Valparaiso formerly of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at home.   He was born January 7, 1913 in East St. Louis, IL the son of Louis & Martha Cook.  He attended the University of Wisconsin prior to a long and colorful career beginning in depression era Chicago and ending as co-owner of National Casein Company. 
He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Westenfelder in 2003, and one son, Thomas O. Cook.  Survivors include their one son, David Cook (Debbie Kerr) of Valparaiso, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a private family service will be held.  Memorials may be made to the VNA Hospice of Porter County.
