William Kenneth Watson, 92 of Valparaiso, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018.  He was born September 23, 1925 in Boone Grove to the late Roy and Elva (Pullins) Watson.  Bill was a U.S. Navy Veteran and was drafted while a Junior at Medaryville High School.  He fulfilled his life’s ambition by receiving his diploma from West Central High School in 2002.  Bill retired from Verizon in 1988, after 40 years with the company.  He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, blanket making, and weaving.  Most of all, Bill loved spending time with his family.  On September 8, 1946 in Valparaiso, Bill married Betty M. Leffew, who preceded him in death in 2000.  He is survived by his children, Kenneth (Cheryl) Watson and Janice (Jeff) Bacon; son-in-law, Gene Foreman; grandchildren: Scott (Susan) Watson, Ryan (Valerie) Watson, Ashley (Josh) Kandel, Tom (Brandi) Foreman, David (Raven) Foreman; great grandchildren: Molly, Ian, Zoey, Emmy, Remington, Dylanger, Liam, Londyn, and Deacon; brother, Benjamin Watson; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Bill was also preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Foreman; sisters, Alice Clayton and Ruth Tanner; and brothers, John, Walter, Joe, Jim, Estel, and Omar.  A special thank you to the staff and residents at Pines Village and the Dunes Hospice staff for their love and care for Bill and the Watson Family.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 6, 2018 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Washington Evangelical Free Church 3805 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to: Dunes Hospice or the Pines Village Good Samaritan Fund.
