Douglas “Doug” Dean Rosenbaum, 59 of Olin, Iowa, transitioned from his earthly body to his heavenly soul Friday, March 31, 2017, after an eight month battle with cancer.  He was known by many friends as a caring and generous friend with an easy-going/great personality.  Doug enjoyed his Williamsburg Manufacturing co-worker banters and senses of humor and was always willing to offer a caring ear, a helping hand and talk about sports, especially the Cubs!  To his family Doug was the greatest husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin (including in-law).  He loved working outside in the yard, golfing, reading, and the Chicago Cubs!  His greatest pride was his daughters and grandchildren.  Grandpa Doug loved the friendly teasing between his love for the Cubs and his grandson, Ryan, for the White Sox.   He also treasured playfully teasing his sweet granddaughter, Krystal.  Doug was born February 25, 1958 to Dean and Gail (Sams) Rosenbaum of Kouts.  He was the eldest of the three Rosenbaum children: Doug, Jeff, and Pam.  Shortly after his high school graduation, he resided in Valparaiso after marrying Linda Nutt and together, they had two beautiful daughters, Jill and Amanda.  Later in life he married Paula Simms and resided in Hebron and ultimately moved to Olin, IA, which was his residence at death.  Doug and Paula were blessed to have fourteen years of marriage prior to his death.  Doug is survived by his wife, Paula (Simms) Rosenbaum of Olin, IA; daughters and grandchildren: Jill Rosenbaum (Ryan Lessard) and Amanda Urycki (Krystal) both of Valparaiso; his siblings: Jeff (Leeanna) Rosenbaum of Valparaiso and Pam Cotton of Portage; along with his marital extended family and many aunt/uncles, nieces/nephews and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Dean and Gail Rosenbaum.
Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM with a Memorial Service beginning at 1:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
