Mary Sue (neé Constine) Glynn Medema went to heaven to be with her personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 5, 2018.  “The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him, on those whose hope is in His unfailing love.” Psalm 33:18, NIV.  She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Oct 25, 1934 to Russell and Erna (neé Hartwig).  She was proceeded in death by her parents and first husband, Wilbert K. Glynn.  With her first husband, she raised four children: Lisa (Matthew) Kell of Dayton, Ohio, Elliott (Katy) Glynn of Arlington Heights, IL, Philip (Deborah) Glynn of Colorado Springs, CO and Douglas (Natalie) Glynn of Plainfield, IL.  She has 11 grandchildren: (Lisa) Zachary, Jesse and Caleb Kell; (Elliott) Alex, Olivia and Caroline Glynn; (Philip) Austin and Adam Glynn; (Douglas) Blake, Luke and Lauren Glynn.  She has 2 great-grandchildren: (Jesse) Ashlynn and Lincoln Kell.  She was also preceded in death by her second husband Andrew V. Medema.  Sue attended Valparaiso University, graduated with a degree in Chemistry and belonged to the Delta Chi Epsilon sorority.   After working in the labs of Swift & Company, in Chicago, she dedicated her time to becoming the world’s best mom and homemaker a family could ever want, baking countless loaves of bread and driving endless miles to Scout meetings, football and swim practices, all the while volunteering with local political groups and with the Psi Iota Xi service sorority.  Participating in church activities and spreading the Word of Jesus was important to Sue.  She sang in the choir, participated in Altar Guild, volunteered at school, attended a weekly Bible study and volunteered at the Immanuel Lutheran church Food Pantry.  In the late 1970s, Sue began working for the Porter County Government at the Courthouse before moving to the Porter County Highway Department where she worked until she retired after 20 years.
On Monday, February 19, 2018: viewing will be at Moeller Funeral Home (104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, IN  46383) from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  Services will follow at 2:00 pm at Heritage Lutheran Church, 308 Washington Street, Valparaiso, IN  46383.  In lieu of flowers, Sue has requested that donations be given to Immanuel Lutheran School 1700 Monticello Drive in Valparaiso, Indiana 46383.
