William L. Leoschke, 91, of Valparaiso passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018. He was born May 2, 1927 in Lockport, NY to William C. & Hildegard (Miller) Leoschke, served with the U.S. Navy during WW II, received a B.S. from Valparaiso University and his Masters and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin in Biochemistry. William served as a Professor of Chemistry at Valparaiso University for 38 years retiring in 1995. His research into the nutrition & physiology of mink and foxes for National Foods was greatly valued, particularly in the Scandinavian and Siberian regions of producers. This allowed for many international trips which he enjoyed along with family camping, canoeing, sailing and swimming excursions.  On June 16, 1956 he married Marjorie A. Kovell who survives along with children, Peter Conrad Leoschke (Terri Gens) & Anna Zervos (John), his twin brother, Floyd Leoschke, sister, Loann McCullum and grandchildren, Matthew, Alex & Krysia. He was preceded in death by brothers, Howard & Donald.
A visitation will be held Friday from 4 – 7 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 am Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1700 N. Monticello Park Dr., Valparaiso with cremation to follow.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Project Neighbors, projectneighbors.org
