Richard Paul Pryor (Przybylski), age 82, of Chesterton, formerly of Valparaiso, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Born on September 21, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of Chester and Leone (Borkowski) Pryor.
Richard graduated from Lyons Township High School and proudly served his country with the Illinois Air National Guard. He went on to build a long and fulfilling career as an Electrical Designer. Outside of work, Richard found joy in tending his garden, cooking, and spending time with his family.
Richard took great pride in raising his four sons, instilling in them the importance of family, hard work, and a generous spirit. Known for his big heart, he left a lasting imprint on those who were fortunate to know him.
Above all, Richard was devoted to his family. He is survived by his beloved sons, Robert (Amanda Howard) Pryor, Mark (Cara) Pryor, Chris (Elizabeth) Pryor, and Paul (Shannon) Pryor; his brother, Michael (Barb) Pryor; and his cherished grandchildren, Markus, Samuel, Emily, and Sarah. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Pete Pryor.
A private family celebration of Richard’s life was held following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory. His memory will live on in the love he shared with his family and the values he passed down through generations.
