Allyn Terry Brown

Allyn Terry Brown, 43 of Wanatah and formerly of Tallula, IL, passed away suddenly as a result of an accident Saturday, June 27, 2026. He was born on September 11, 1982 in Knob Noster, Missouri to Lance and Nancy (Hollis) Brown. A 2002 graduate of PORTA High School, Allyn was working for the LaPorte County Highway Department. He enjoyed music, loved Star Wars, was a “Sci-Fi nerd”, was an avid NASCAR, Bears, and Cubs fan, and in his younger years was involved in demolition derbies. Allyn was an active member of the American Legion Post 403 of Wanatah and enjoyed tinkering, fixing, and working on anything where he could use his tools. If you ever had a chance to meet Allyn, you would fully understand that he never met a stranger and was willing to help anyone in any way possible. His outgoing and loving personality will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

On July 22, 2023, Allyn married Shauna Huhnke who survives along with his siblings, Brian (Marla) Brown, Nicole (David) Sutherland, Jennifer (Cameron) Boggs, Heather (Dan) Bacon-Muller, and Jamie (Jesse) Bushnell; father, Lance Brown; additional parents, Terry and Chris Bacon; Father and mother-in-law, Glenn and Robin Huhnke; brother-in-law, Samuel (Katelyn Tucker) Huhnke; many loving nieces and nephews; and special companion his dog, Clark. He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 18, 2026 with a service at Noon and gathering until 4:00 PM at the Wanatah American Legion Post 403 203 S. Washington St., Wanatah. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the Wanatah American Legion Post 403.
