Cecelia Jacqueline Hyde (Quigley)
Jackie Hyde passed away Sunday, July 26th, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Jackie was born in Miller, Indiana, on November 12th, 1934. A lifetime resident of northwest Indiana, Jackie later married and spent the next fifty years with the love of her life, Richard (Dick) Hyde, who preceded her in death. Together, they raised a family of six children. The Hyde residence served as a second home to many of their children’s friends over the years. Jackie was a long-time member of Nativity of Our Savior Parish
Jackie lived an active and long life with her family as the epicenter of it all. She enjoyed cross-country skiing with her husband and taking walks with both him and her family. She was a lover of sharing stories of her childhood, found strength in her faith, enjoyed reading, and playing board games. There may never be a more formidable Scrabble opponent.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Cecelia Quigley, and her siblings, Albert Quigley, Merle Quigley, Lorraine Eberhardt, Nancy Korenich, and Ruth Urbanski. She is survived by siblings: Lawrence Quigley, Judy Sanchez, and Eileen Camery, as well as her children: Richard Hyde, Martin and Mary Hyde, Timothy and Sandra Hyde, Sheila Mullins (John Taylor), Joseph and Tracey Hyde, and Colleen LeRose (Todd Brown).
Her grandchildren: Autum Robles (Erfren), Kenneth Hyde, Tina Hyde, Timothy Hyde (Kori Spencer), Jennifer Hyde, Brittany Phillips (Jody), Thomas Mullins (Tiffany), Michelle Sickles (David), Dustin Hyde, Jacob Hyde, Luke Hyde, Megan Hyde, Michael Wall (Ashley), Ryan Wall (Carolyn), and Kevin Wall (Natalie).
Jackie’s great-grandchildren: Nathan Robles, Mila Robles, Azylnn Phillips, Asher Phillips, Beckett Phillips, Jackson Mullins, Mason Mullins, Greyson Hyde, Rowan Hyde, Maddisyn Sickles, Dylan Sickles. Nicole Wall, Eva Wall, Isabel Wall, Avery Wall, Piper Wall, Drew Wall, and great-great-grandchild Weston Phillips.
A memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd, Valparaiso, Indiana at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 8th, 2026. A luncheon will be served in the hall immediately following the service. All family and friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Jackie’s name.
