Diane Adelman, 73 of Valparaiso for 20 years, passed away Friday, June 26, 2026.  She was born on March 18, 1953 in Chicago. Illinois the daughter of Robert and Kathryn (Shields) Adelman, twin sister of Denise, and sister of Debbie, all who preceded her in death.  Diane graduated from Bogan High School in 1972, worked a variety of jobs and worked with her dad, who she was very close to.  She was a diehard Cubs fan and even had a Cubs tattoo that she got the year they won the World Series, that was paid for by one of her doctors.  Diane was little but very spunky and though she struggled with her health for many years, she was a fighter to the end.

Diane is survived by her nephew Rob (Mary), niece Katie (Russ), and their daughters Sloane and Summer, nephew Jason (Mary) and niece Sarah (Mark) and their son Callan.  She loved her family deeply and was loved by them as well.  Rob was by her side through happy days and dark days, his presence was very calming to her, and she loved his sense of humor.  He was her rock.

She also loved and was loved by her Valpo family.  Diane had many friends and loved their visits and there were many birthday lunches through the years that she always looked forward to.  She was thankful to have VNC as her home church and when she was healthier, volunteered in the church office.  Diane attended many Bible studies and was baptized at VNC, she loved Jesus.  She will be missed by many, and she touched lots of hearts along the way.  We are all blessed to have known her, and we know we will see her in heaven with Jesus.

Diane’s Celebration of Life Service will be on Thursday, July 9, 2026 at Valparaiso Nazarene Church 2702 E. Glendale Blvd., Valparaiso with a gathering from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, with the service beginning at 12:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
