Elaine Patricia Gottschlich, 90 of Valparaiso, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026. She was born on February 9, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Irene Ringer and Joseph Mayer. A 1953 graduate of Hammond High School, Elaine worked alongside her husband, Karl, for 47 years at the family business, J.J. Fuds, Inc. Elaine was a talented painter and enjoyed dancing, gardening, and listening to classical music. A devoted and loving mother, her family was her passion, and she will be dearly missed.
On May 17, 1958, Elaine married Karl H. Gottschlich who survives along with their children, Peter Joseph (Roben) Gottschlich, Michael John (Melissa) Gottschlich, Karl Wilhelm Gottschlich, and Ina Regina Himme; grandchildren, Joseph William, Alexander Charles, and Bradley Michael; and great granddaughter, Dililah Elaine.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with the Funeral Service on Friday, June 12th at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.
