Fern Alice Magnusson, 94 of Hayward, Wisconsin, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026. She was born on August 6, 1931 in Cheboygan, Michigan, the daughter of the late, Stanley and Leonore (Sova) Kolatskie. For over 25 years, Fern worked alongside her husband, David, operating The Edge of Town Bar & Restaurant in Mequon, Wisconsin. When they retired, they moved to the Hayward area where David grew up. Fern enjoyed volunteering at the Hospital in Hayward and loved spending time with family.
On March 31, 1951, Fern married David Magnusson, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2000. She is survived by her children, Karen (Stewart) Smith, Mark Magnusson, Drew (Debi) Magnusson, Judy Van Sluys, and David (Karen) Magnusson, Jr.; 9 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held in Hayward, Wisconsin with a burial of ashes at Shell Lake Cemetery and will be announced at a later date.
