Jai Marsden, 57 of Hobart, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 31, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born January 16, 1969 in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England and is the son of Michael and Christine Marsden. Jai worked as a general contractor and was truly a jack of all trades. He was known for his big heart, his quick wit, and his unwavering loyalty to his family and friends. Jai found true enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life, whether he was working in the yard, watching a football game, listening to his favorite music, or simply spending time with his family and friends . He approached every day with a vibrant energy and lived his life completely to the fullest. Above all else, Jai was a devoted and loving son, brother, father, uncle, companion, and friend. His capacity to love extended far beyond his immediate family. He held a special place in his heart for his dogs, and his warmth touched the entire community. Jai was a father figure to many, leaving a profound impact on their lives. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his humor, generosity, and fiercely loyal spirit.
Jai is survived by the love of his life, Amanda Newberg; parents, Michael and Christine Marsden; son, Tyler (Sarah) Marsden; sister, Melanie (Garrett) Flick; niece, Madelyn Flick; nephew, Corrin Flick; and many extended family and friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in memory of Jai to the local animal shelter of your choice.
