Jess A. Goin, 60, of Monterey, Indiana passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026. He was born April 2, 1966 to Richard & Delores (Wilson) Goin. Jess had been the farm manager for Great Lakes Poultry’s Quad Eagle Farm in Monterey for the past 12 years. His career path allowed him to work as a commercial fisherman and to become an expert concrete finisher. Jess enjoyed vacations with his family, creating and restoring fine wood furniture, nearly all sports, and hosting raucous parties on the farm for his friends which usually included explosives of some type. Despite having a personality that has been described by some to be “cranky” and “stubborn”, Jess maintained scores of loyal friends likely due to his generous nature that always seemed to shine through just at the right time.
Survivors include his children: Nicole Goin of Chesterton, Justin Goin of Colorado & Cristian Hill of Florida, sisters: Carolyn (Mike) Hise, Charlene Matury & Rhonda (Ronnie) Oleson, granddaughter, Tara Rodriguez, his mother, Delores Wallace of Valparaiso, three nieces, his “best friend”, Cindy Feitshans and her son, Cole Feitshans. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Goin in 2017.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a private family celebration of Jess’ life will be held.
