John H. Kopczak, 96 of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2024. He was born May 28, 1928 in Ambridge, Pennsylvania to John and Lillian (Kotarski) Kopczak. A graduate of Ambridge High School, John worked from 1968-1990 as an operations dispatcher for Bethlehem Steel. His pride and joy was the Blakely Bearcat kit car that he built and drove up until he couldn’t get in it anymore.
John is survived by his son, John L. (Julie Bunton) Kopczak; step grandson, Jason Mount; and niece, Sandy Golando. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elizabeth “Betty” in 2005; and brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Doris Kopczak.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, private family services will be held.
