John was a very kind and good man. Just a few memories - my father and I helping shingle the roof in the Jackson Township home. I visited them often, giving them guitar lessons (not very successfully) and watching "The Bill Cosby Show" regularly with them. I took a trip out west in the spring of 1985, where I stopped for a visit with them in Tucson, Arizona. I hadn't seen him in a long while; but you you get a sense of how warm he was from the photo you see in this listing. He was one of our best. -Scott Chellberg

My deepest condolences…I will always remember his warmth and generosity, especially how he opened up his home to me each time Candy brought me around. He always made sure I felt welcomed and part of the family. Such a wonderful guy who sure knew how to fix or hang anything! I will always have such fond memories of him. Thinking of everyone and wishing I was there. -Melanie Strange (and Eric)
