Juanita Diane Houpt, 88, of Valparaiso passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 18, 2026. She was born January 21, 1938, to Maurice & Frances (Perrill) Ludington and graduated from Boone Grove High School. Juanita made her career as a payroll manager with Indiana General for many years. Snowbird trips to Arizona with her husband, Dean “Whitey”, during the winter months of their retirement were always eagerly anticipated.
On October 19, 1957, she married Dean A. “Whitey” Houpt who preceded her in death in 2017. Survivors include their son, Dean (Karen) Houpt of Valparaiso, grandchildren, Tiffany Houpt & Tony Ortiz, great-grandson, Tony Ortiz, Jr., and her sister, Sandra (Bob) Taylor of Boone Grove. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Carolyn Hood.
A visitation will be held Friday, September 25th from 5 – 8 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso. Private burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
