Kathleen Suzanne “Kathy” Motshagen, 70, of Valparaiso, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 13, 2026.  Kathy was born on June 17, 1956, in Washington, Pennsylvania, to Fred and Loretta (Zaremba) Guinn.  A deeply compassionate woman, she dedicated 25 years of her life to caring for others as a registered nurse.  Kathy was a was a lover of Jesus and a beautiful example of a devoted godly woman. Alongside her husband, Jim, she poured her heart into ministry at their church, The Dwelling Place, and through Calvary Radio.  She will be remembered and deeply missed as a faithful partner in marriage and ministry, a dedicated mother, a loyal best friend, and a cherished "Grammy."

On May 24, 1987, Kathy married James Motshagen who survives along with their children, Nikki (Gregford) Hilbrecht, Danni (Bradford) Wade, Chelli (Johnford) Freyek, and Shane Motshagen; and grandchildren, Emma, Shepherd, Ada, Riley, Remy, Cooper, and Pixie.  She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Debbie Carota.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on August 29, 2026 from 12:00-2:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, with a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Destiny Rescue.
