It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Lynette M. “Lyn” Gant, 68, of Kouts, who passed away peacefully at home with her family on August 23, 2026.
Lyn is survived by her husband, John Gant; her children, Dave (Julie) and Tim (Kelsey); her grandchildren, Tyler, Tinley, Lincoln, and Maverick; her brother, Mark (Jamie) Fox; her brother-in-law, Tom (Lori) Gant and sister-in-law, Susan Gant. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty (Joe) Irelan and Ron Fox.
Lyn was born on July 3, 1958. She has been a lifelong Kouts resident and a 1976 graduate of Kouts High School. Lyn married her greatest love, John Gant, on May 13, 1978. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and adventure. She spent most of her adult life as a trusted and respected realtor with Coldwell Banker and retired from Listing Leaders. Lyn was an active member of Kouts Christian Church for many years and one of the founders of Mulberry Tree Ministries.
Lyn’s love for Jesus was the foundation of her life. She found immense joy in her children, cherished her grandchildren, and never seemed to run out of ideas for another flower to plant or another project to create. Her creativity, faith, and love for family were woven into everything she did.
While our hearts are broken by losing her, we find comfort knowing that she is now resting in arms of the Savior she loved. We will miss her more than words can say, but we will continue to see pieces of her everywhere-in the flowers she loved, in the projects she inspired, in the faith she passed down, and in the sherbet-colored skies.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Kouts Christian Church 208 S. Polland Ave., Kouts, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Kouts.
Until we meet again, she will remain forever in our hearts.

Lyn was the epitome of kindness, gentleness, and goodness. Although we moved from Kouts nearly 20 years ago, she and I kept in touch, keeping our friendship alive, and I will miss our “conversations” through texts.
