Natalie Kristen Bowersock, 43 of Valparaiso, loving and devoted wife, mother, and friend, passed away suddenly on July 22, 2026. She was born on November 8, 1982, in Dyer, Indiana, to Kenneth A. and Antonia “Toni” (Zamudio) Cosby. Natalie graduated from Lake Central High School in 2001. Committed to her education and helping others, she earned her bachelor's degree from Purdue Northwest in 2014 and completed her master’s degree at Calumet College of St. Joseph in 2017.
Natalie dedicated her life to education and social work, serving as a pillar of support for her community. She was currently teaching special education at the Menta Academy and previously taught within the East Porter County School Corporation. Her passion for helping families also led her to work as a social worker with the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) in Lake and Porter Counties. Deeply invested in local education, she was currently serving her community as a member of the East Porter County School Board.
She will be remembered most for her fierce love, deep devotion, and vibrant, living life to the fullest personality. As the absolute rock of her family, she found great joy in traveling with family and friends, always striving to ensure that everyone around her was having a wonderful time. Her presence brought immense warmth, and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know and love her.
On October 23, 2020, Natalie married the love of her life, Scott Bowersock who survives along with their children, Bentley Bowersock, Asher Obajtek, Audrey Obajtek, and Hazel Bowersock; parents, Kenneth and Antonia Cosby; brother, Ken (Gina) Cosby; nephews, Vinni and Dylan; and many loving extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service to celebrate her life on Wednesday, July 29th at 11:00 AM. Cremation will follow with a private burial of ashes at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family to establish college funds for Bentley, Asher, Audrey, and Hazel.
