Palasteen Brown, 69 of Hanna, IN, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2026. She was born April 15, 1957, in Rensselaer, IN, to the late Lloyd and Inez (Messer) Hale. Palasteen attended South Central High School with the class of 1976. She worked as a cashier at Walmart in Valparaiso for many years, but she primarily was a loving and devoted homemaker to her husband and children. Palasteen enjoyed being a member of Grace Tabernacle in Knox with her husband. She looked forward to celebrating Christmas every year, and savored the holiday decorating, baking, and gift giving. Making Christmas special for her beloved grandchildren was very important for Palasteen. She also loved supporting her grandchildren all year round in their extracurricular activities. Palasteen’s loving nature, good heart, and kindness will be deeply missed by those who knew her.

On December 16, 1978, at the First Christian Church in Valparaiso, Palasteen married the love of her life, Jeffrey Brown, who survives, along with their children: Jeffery (Samantha) Brown of Washington Township, Maranda (Clinton) Beecher of San Pierre, and Katelynd Woodard of San Pierre; grandchildren: Chaz, Kage, Hunter, Gracie, Austin, Emma, Liam, and Cooper; 1 great-grandchild on the way; and siblings: Tim (Jani) Hale and Melady (Darrel) Kleist. She was preceded in death by her sister, Sheila Eckstein.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Hanna Cemetery.
