Roger William Byers, Sr., 59 of Portage, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026. He was born on November 14, 1966 in Fort Bragg, California to Sherman W. and Sharon Kay (Pierce) Byers. Roger had a fun and loving personality and enjoyed making people smile and laugh with his jokes. He was an avid Washington Commanders fan and loved spending time with his friends and wife, Allison.
On October 15, 2021 Roger married Allison M. Corneil who survives along with his children, Misty Catton and Roger (Amy) Byers, Jr.; stepchildren, Ashley and Briana Corneil; 4 grandchildren; brother-in-law, Doug Walker; sister-in-law, Amy (Ted Wheeler) Corneil; and his best friend, Billy Coker. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Patty, Cindy, and Ronnie.
Private family services were held with cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, Valparaiso.
