It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness, we share that on Sunday, August 16, 2026, Scott R. Garcia, 36 years old, of Porter, Indiana, passed away suddenly. He was born in Greenock, Scotland on April 27, 1990.
Scott was an incredible man. He had a one-of-a-kind, charismatic personality that poured into the souls of those around him. He lit up every room he walked in to and always brought the vibe that made you smile wherever he went. You just wanted to be near him. His sense of humor was next level and his laugh was contagious. He always lived his life with such enthusiasm. He was a big sports fan and loved doing so many things, but he especially loved spending time outdoors; fishing & playing disc golf. Scott built his life here, in Northwest Indiana. Through his hard work and dedication, he had a successful career, serving as a proud member of Local 460 Painters Union, and working as a Superintendent for Brock Industries, where he was highly respected by his colleagues and crew.
Scott’s deepest devotion was to his family, whom he loved immensely. He took so much pride in being a husband & father and providing a loving home for them. He is survived by his loving wife, Nikayla, whom he married on October 19, 2018; his amazing children; Brayden, Landon, Mila, and Malcolm. He is also survived by his father, Richard S. Garcia Jr.; mother, Karen Garcia (Telfer); sister Sharon Will; sister Marci Haines (Adam); niece, Addison; and nephews, Dylan & Ethan. He also leaves behind Aunts, Uncles, cousins, with whom he shared close relationships, as well as many other extended family and great friends that meant the world to him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard & Beverly Garcia; and grandparents Graham & Kay Will.
Scott had such an extraordinary impact on so many in his life. The joy that he brought to everyone will not be forgotten. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Our family will be laying Scott to rest with a private burial at Angelcrest Cemetery. On Friday, August 28, 2026, from 1:00-5:00 pm, we welcome those who would like to come together with us for a “Celebration of Life” at The Gathering Place 131 N. Main St., Hebron, Indiana. My heart along with my sons go out to the loss of Scott. Our prayers to his entire family, who I know are missing him terribly. I know he will be missed every single day. He will live on through the joys, love, laughter and smiles of his precious children, three handsome sons and one beautiful daughter. I know he's in a better place now and at peace. He will be guarding his earthly angels here on Earth from Heaven. May God comfort and ease your pain as much as possible. May he give you peace in knowing he's loved dearly in heaven. I'm so sorry that this had to happen to all of you......losing someone you love is by far one of the more difficult things we must face in life.....but with God's grace, strength and love you will be able too.
