Tristan Douglas Baker was born August 6, 1996, at White County Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Indiana to his parents, Kimberly Diehl and Gary Baker. Tristan passed away on August 9, 2026, at home.
Tristan graduated in 2015 from Twin Lakes High School in Monticello, Indiana. He loved playing football and other sports, hanging out with his friends, working different jobs that he enjoyed, and being with his family. Tristan loved music, especially the bands Falling in Reverse, Motionless in White, and Sleep Token. He loved the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Colorado Rockies, repping merch everywhere he went.
Tristan is an Army Veteran who is very proud of that accomplishment, where his highest ranking was a Corporal. Tristan graduated December 4, 2015, from Fort Benning, GA B-2/54th Infantry. He was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado following basic training. He used his training to develop a serious work ethic and a love and respect for others that ran deep.
Tristan worked at Lake Cable of Indiana for almost 5 years. He had pride in his job and made so many friends along the way. Tristan was also enrolled at Purdue University Global finishing his Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Leadership. He was scheduled to graduate September 8th, and he will honorably graduate, where they will send his degree to his family. This is another feat Tristan was very proud of.
Tristan loved his family more than anything. His mother, Kimberly, was extremely special to him. His brother, Aidan, was his best friend and partner in crime. Tristan and Aidan both looked up to each other in different ways. His father, Gary, loved both boys very much.
Tristan met Meagan-Renee Tannenbaum, his fiancée, in 6th grade at Roosevelt Middle School. They went their separate ways through the start of adulthood but found their way back to each other in late September of 2023. They fell more in love than that middle school love they felt the first time and became inseparable. In 2025, they welcomed their beautiful daughter, Freya Kimberlee Baker, with her middle name after both their mothers. Tristan loved Freya with everything he had.
Tristan is proceeded in death by his mother, Kimberly; his father, Gary; his maternal great-grandmother, Laura (Grand-D); and his maternal great grandparents: Sheldon (Babe) and Carol (MoMo).
Tristan is survived by his daughter, Freya Baker; his fiancée, Meagan-Renee Tannenbaum; his brother, Aidan Baker (fiancée Madyson Fraze); loving grandparents: John and Judy Diehl; aunt, Courtney Diehl (David Lippert) and their daughter, Violet; Uncle Bro (John) and Aunt Tifany Diehl and their children: Brandon, Jordan and Jr.; his best friend, Joel Abarca; plenty of nieces and nephews; a lot of Meagan’s family; and many other loving family members and friends.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso, IN, with a time of sharing beginning at 3:00 p.m. In honor of Tristan, please wear something purple to his celebration of life, as it was his favorite color.
