William Dwight Carper Jr., affectionately known as Bill, of Franklin, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, at the age of 79. He was born on December 11, 1946.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Army alongside a long and dedicated career with Bethlehem Steel, where he worked until his retirement. He was known for his strong work ethic, dependability, and quiet strength.
Above all, Bill loved his family. He will be remembered for the care he showed those closest to him, the values he instilled, and the many memories he created with those he loved. His kindness, resilience, and steady presence will be deeply missed.
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Mellissa and Jenniffer; his grandchildren, Johnathan, Kiefer, Laiten, Kameron; and his beloved great-granddaughter, Skylar. His family was his greatest pride and joy.
Bill's legacy of love, service, and devotion to his family will continue through the generations he leaves behind. He will be remembered with love, gratitude, and affection by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service celebrating Bill's life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2026 with Flag ceremony at 1:00 PM at 9230 E 142 Ave., Hebron. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor his memory, share stories, and celebrate a life well lived.
