Kenneth M. Corneil, Jr., 81 of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023. He was born February 7, 1942 in Valparaiso to Kenneth and Gladys (Whitman) Corneil, Sr. A graduate of Valparaiso High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army, Ken was the owner of Corneil Shell Service on the corner of Lincolnway and Roosevelt in Valparaiso for 20 years. After closing the station, he ran The Shop in Valparaiso for 30 years.
On April 24, 1965, Ken married Joan E. Horak who survives along with their children, Kenneth J. (Karen) Corneil, Rebecca Corneil, and Jennifer (Andy) Funk; grandchildren, Joseph Funk, William Corneil, Michael Funk, and Charlotte Corneil. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Moseley and his honorary brother, Jack Henson.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Angelcrest Cemetery, Valparaiso.

Kenny was a lifelong friend of my father Keith and I remember meeting him when I was a little girl. Throughout the years we would stop by and say hello when I was in town visiting.
