Robert J. Blonn, 63, of Kouts passed away Friday, July 7, 2023. He was born February 14, 1960 in Whiteland, Indiana to William & Lois (McMicken) Blonn and graduated from Calvary Academy in South Holland, IL. Bob made his career as an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic serving the last 15 years with Ardagh Beverage Can Company in Valparaiso. Bob enjoyed cooking and developed his style in phases, perfecting each one as he progressed. However, his “arroz con pollo” remained a family favorite without any revision necessary. His 1977 BMW motorcycle remains an icon of his lifetime fascination with the brand. His witty comments were always welcome comic relief and may very well have helped support his determined work ethic.
On April 11, 1987 he married Linda Huisman who survives along with their children; Madeline Blonn of Chicago, Evan Blonn of Glendale Heights, Il, Andrew Blonn of Goshen, and siblings; Rebecca (Fred) Grosser, Bill (Marge) Blonn & Ben (Marla) Blonn. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 3 – 7 pm at Kosanke Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St., Kouts (new location). The funeral service will begin at 10:30 am Thursday at the funeral home with burial following at Graceland Cemetery, Kouts. Memorial donations may be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
