Colleen T. Jorsch, 68 of Valparaiso, passed away on Friday, July 7, 2023. She was born on March 10, 1955 in Fort Smith, AR to Daniel and Jeanne (Lampert) Leahy. After graduating high school, she devoted her time to caring for her family. She enjoyed various arts and crafts including stained glass and basket making. Colleen had a selfless heart and was a special education advocate for many, making sure special needs children had the same opportunities as general education children. She was a strong and faithful woman who courageously battled cancer for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be dearly missed.
On September 28, 1974, Colleen married Larry Jorsch, who preceded her in death in 2017. They were blessed with three children: Megan, Caitlin, and the late Joel Jorsch. Survivors include siblings: Kathleen (Steve) Hansrote, Noreen Leahy, Maureen (Tim) Congleton, Danny (Carol) Leahy, and Bernard “Bert” (Rosanna) Leahy; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Jeanne; brother, David Leahy; and son, Joel Jorsch.
Celebrating the life of a true warrior, a memorial visitation will be held on July 18, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held on July 19, 2023 at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 W. Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, beginning at 10:00 AM with additional visitation at 9:00 AM. Burial to follow at Angelcrest Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

I’m sad to hear of the passing of Colleen, she was a beautiful, kind, selfless woman- who put up a great fight. The Jorsch family were one of the first friends my family made when we moved to LOFS in 1986/87. Colleen was always welcoming. She lead our Girl Scout troop and drove us on many excursions in her van. I know she’s dearly missed. My thoughts and hugs go to Megan & Caitlin at this time.
