Helen Hicks Sinclair, 89 of Valparaiso, passed away on November 21, 2023, at Pines Village, Valparaiso. Born November 22, 1933, in Valparaiso, she was the daughter of Florence (Howard) and Lester E. Finney, who preceded her in death. She was married December 6, 1952, to Joe E.S. Hicks, and Ronald G. Sinclair on November 9, 2002. Both preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Stephen J. Hicks (wife Karen), Bloomsburg, PA, and two grandchildren, Megan and Ian, and four stepchildren: Christopher Sinclair, Colorado, Rev. Brian Sinclair (wife Melanie), Minnesota, Sandra Gott (husband Gerald), Schererville, and Lynne Sinclair, California. She left behind seven step-grandchildren, Tiffany, Tyler, Travis, and Tara Sinclair; Ryan Gott; Julia and Sophia Sanchez. Helen had a sister, Jean Roeske, Boone Grove, and a brother, Ronald Finney (wife Norma), Valparaiso, who preceded her in death.
She loved playing the piano, collecting knickknacks (the latest were stuffed gnomes), and her church family.
At her request, there will be no funeral service or visitation. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at Adams Cemetery, Morgan Township. Memorials should be made to Liberty Bible Church or the Visiting Nurse Association Hospice Program.
