Jack Bernard Mockler, 80, of Hanna, Indiana passed away at home on Tuesday, April 9, 2024. He was born October 26, 1943, in LaPorte County to Harold & Mary (Bailey) Mockler, graduated from Clinton Township High School in 1962, then trained as a Tool & Die Maker with McGill’s Manufacturing where he made his career in their Bearing Division for 45 years. As a talented craftsman and technology enthusiast he enjoyed building micro robots, turning electronics into motion. Jack enjoyed everything associated with airplanes which included piloting Cessna flights from the Porter County Airport, building over one hundred scale-model aircraft. He enjoyed several Hi performance cars and sporting around in his blue Corvette, and having his mother test-drive the hovercraft that he built in his garage. Jack took great pride in having been a part of the bearing manufacturing process that provided parts for American military helicopters and for his membership in the local Corvette Club.
Survivors include his siblings; Bob Mockler, Richard (Tina) Mockler, Ron (Barb) Mockler, Ken (Kelli) Mockler, Tricia (Dale) Bucher and many loving nieces, nephews & friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Mary Ann (John) Bauer.
A family burial ceremony will be held at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso on the Mockler family plot.
