Larry Edward Frye, 73 of Valparaiso, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 2, 1951 in Michigan City, IN to Howard and Lilian (Smith) Frye. Larry proudly served in the United States Army as a radio operator in Germany and made his career as a machine operator for Bethlehem Steel and ArcelorMittal for 44 years before retiring. If you were looking for him, you would find him somewhere outside, whether that be fishing, working meticulously on his yard, or camping anywhere from state parks in Indiana to Colorado and Tennessee. Above all, he found great joy in visiting with his children and spending time with his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and son who’s sense of humor and kind soul will be deeply missed.
On October 6, 1989 in Valparaiso, Larry married Mary Arnold, who survives, along with their children: Karrie (Lori) Frye, Jason Frye, Brandon (Lucy) Frye, and James Frye; grandchildren: Tyler Frye, Polly Frye, and Dexter Frye; and beloved dogs, Libby and Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Wilson and Willie Frye; and 4 siblings.
Per Larry’s wishes, there are no services at this time. Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice in his name.
