Raymond Clarence Love, 66 of Valparaiso, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 25, 2024. He was born April 5, 1958 in East Chicago, Indiana the son of Richard and Jayne (Smaron) Love. Currently working at Indiana University Northwest as a maintenance technician, Raymond was getting ready for retirement. He found enjoyment working on cars and loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Raymond is survived by his mother, Jayne Love; son, Ryan (Amanda) Love; grandchildren, Charley, Adelyn, and Maverick Love and Raelynn Love; siblings, Richard (Mary) Love and Lynn (Jim) Mahlie; and his significant other, Jennifer Yorek. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard and daughter, Rachel Love.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, a Memorial Service will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 7132 Arizona Ave, Hammond, IN 46323, with lunch immediately following the service.

Your dad and I became very close and good friends over the years. he would stop by if he went to the hardware store down the street for work and have quick cup of coffee. when he would leave, we would give each other a hug. he'd always say, "I love you brother". There will never be anyone like your dad. I wish I could give him one more hug. I'm so sorry for you and your family Ryan. Ray was a great guy. I didn't get to see Ray often when I was on campus but each time he had a ready smile, a kind word, and a message of encouragement. Praying for you all as I send heartfelt condolences to you. It was always a pleasure seeing Ray around the campus at IUN. I will always cherish my last chat with Ray, we hugged after chatting and wishing each other well as we were both excited about our upcoming retirement.
