Joseph S. Kasprzycki, 101, of Dyer, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 15th, 2024. Joseph was born February 13, 1923 in Rajcza, Poland to Franciszek and Bronisława (Budziaszek) Kasprzycki. Joseph served in the Polish Military during WWII and then through the Allied Command under General Stanislaw Maczek. After his arrival to the United States, Joseph made his career as a Control Room Operator at Cargill. He was the proud Commander of the Polish Army Veterans of America, Post 40, of Hammond, Indiana. In 2022, Joseph received the Cross of the Cavalier Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland.
Joseph is survived by his beloved daughters, Josephine (Dennis) Banik, Joanne (Steven) Ferry, Eva (Christopher) Turner, and Maria (Jeff) Hansen; and grandchildren, Evan Grabowski, Lexi Czaja, Nina Czaja, Calista Hansen, Kylah Turner and Christien Hansen; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janyna Christina Kasprzycki; and siblings, Frank, Stanley and Janina.
Joseph enjoyed spending time with his daughters and six grandchildren. He enjoyed the company of his friends and traveling with members of the Golden Timers.  Joseph looked forward to attending services and social gatherings at Carmelite Fathers in Munster. Joseph loved our Lord; he was a parishioner at both St. Casimir Catholic Church in Hammond, IN and St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church in Calumet City, IL. He enjoyed listening to music, ballroom dancing, and watching game shows; he never missed Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 3:00-7:00 PM, with Prayers in Polish at 6:00 PM, at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, IN and Friday, June 21st  directly at St. Paul Catholic Church 1855 W. Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso, IN  from 9:00-10:00 AM. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on June 21st at St. Paul Catholic Church.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Calumet City, IL.
