Betty Louise Conner, 100 of Argos and formerly of Kouts, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. She was born on May 28, 1924 in Chicago, IL to Louis Jamieson and Mae (Rynicker) Pegg. Growing up, she was also raised by her Aunt Helen and her Grandma and Grampy Rynicker. At the age of 16, she met the love of her life, Bob Conner. She was dedicated to raising the family of their dreams and made her career in custodial maintenance at Kouts Post Office for 10 years. Her hobbies included painting, gambling in New Buffalo and Vegas, spending time with her family and grandkids, traveling and camping all across America. Recently she got to spend her 100th birthday surrounded by her loving family at Swan Lake Resort. As Betty herself would say, she lived a beautiful life. Her caring disposition, supportive nature, and love for her family and those around her will be dearly missed.
On April 25, 1943, Betty married Robert Conner who preceded her in death in 1985. Survivors include daughters: Mary Ann Dentino, Linda (Jack) Lippert, Carol (Denis) Good, and Lori (Mike) Simons; son-in-law, Allen Singleton; grandchildren: Angela, Jennifer, Wendy, Ginger, Robert, Shawn, Trisha, Jeff, Traci, Amanda, Magen, Michael Jr., David, and Holli; 34 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren with one of the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shari Singleton; son-in-law, Richard Dentino; granddaughter, Kristy DeLee; grandsons: Marc Singleton, Mike Bixel, and Greg Bellinger; and brother, Robert Jamieson.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024 from 10:00 – noon at Kosanke Funeral Home, 309 S. Main Street, with a service beginning at noon. Burial to follow at Graceland Cemetery, Kouts.
