Edward Robert Wantuch, Jr., 86, of Valparaiso, Indiana formerly of Crete, Illinois passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Northwest Health Porter. He as born March 16, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois to Edward R. & Julia (Sopkowicz) Wantuch, Sr., served proudly with the U.S. Army, and received a degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois Chicago.
On July 31, 1965, at St. Ailbe Catholic Church in Chicago he married Kathleen Knowles who preceded him in death in 2010. He was also preceded in death by their son, Edward Robert Wantuch, III in 2022. Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Monica Wantuch of Valparaiso, grandchildren: Eamon, Molly & Kate Wantuch, two sisters; Patricia (Eddie) Zimmerman; and Jeannie (Phil) Kadner, and Uncle to several nephews and nieces.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory in Valparaiso there will be a private family committal ceremony held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, 11:00 am at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, Illinois where he will rest beside his beloved Kathleen to await the resurrection.
