Donald D. Clemans, 94 of Boone Grove, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. He was born May 14, 1930 in Valparaiso to Louis “Ernie” and Mary (Reeder) Clemans and graduated from Liberty Township High School. Donald proudly served in the United States Army where he was stationed all throughout Germany and was a former Moose member. He made his career as a motor inspector for US Steel for 30 years and was a self-started, dedicated lifelong farmer. Donald and his wife Eileen shared a love of travel, anywhere from Hawaii to good old back country roads to look at the crops. He was a simple man in the best way, enjoying his time in the fields, watching RFD TV, and above all, spending time with those he loved. His strong will, work ethic, and resilience will be deeply missed yet fondly lives on in those he leaves behind.
On June 10, 1950, Donald married Eileen J. Wolfe, who preceded him in death in October of 2020, just months after celebrating 70 wonderful years of marriage. Survivors include their children, Connie (David) Summers of Wabash, IN, Donna Wright of Valparaiso, Bonnie (Allison) Clemans of Valparaiso, Kenneth (Teri) Clemans of Boone Grove, and Lisa (Mark) Zoll of Boone Grove; brother, Wilbert Clemans; grandchildren, Jim, Joe, Vicki, Valerie, Mandi, Casey, Alyssa, Emily, Anna, Chris, and Zachary; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings: Dorothy McKinney, and Edward, Gerald, and Ernest Clemans.
A visitation will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM – 1:15 PM at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with a funeral service beginning at 1:15 PM with entombment to follow at Graceland Mausoleum.
