Richard A. Geeze, 84 of Valparaiso, passed away at his home after a long illness, on Tuesday, November 19, 2024. He was born October 29, 1940 in Brooklyn, New York to Walter and Margaret (Luzzolini) Geeze. Richard made his career as a Senior Electrical Engineer working at U.S. Steel and Midwest Steel, retiring at age 63. Then he joined Glen Mount Global and worked until he was 79. He was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and was an avid bowler, bowling in the Monday night league at Ray’s Lanes in Lake Station for many years. Richard enjoyed photography and his passion was technology, he was known for having several computers in use around the house.
On April 20, 1980, Richard married Brenda A. Harth who survives along with their children, Richard Geeze, Tom (Vicki) Geeze, Lisa (Steve) Gawel, Cindi Geeze, Shannon Brewer, and Shawn (Darla) Brewer; 11 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; siblings, Joyce (Larry) Bergey, Diana (Bob) St. Claire, Don (Maryann) Geeze, Patti (Randy) Pogorelc, and Christopher (Rachel) Geeze; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Matthew Geeze.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024 from 3:00-6:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 6:00 PM. Private burial will take place a McCool Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
