Beverly J. Paquin, 82, of Valparaiso passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, January 14, 2025. She was born December 15, 1942, in Gary, IN to John & Theresa (nee Grunstein) Surufka and graduated from Hammond Morton High School in 1961. Bev dedicated herself to raising her family, but it was her grandchildren that became the greatest beneficiaries of her love and talents. Practice really did make her perfect in that regard. Her joy of shopping and casino gaming may not yet have been perfected, but she never seemed to be done practicing.
On January 18, 1964, she married Gary Paquin who survives along with their daughters: Christine Paquin of Valparaiso, Renee (John) Blosky of Valparaiso & Nicole (Joe) Lynch of Crown Point, siblings: Sandra (Jerry) Perry of Crown Point, John (Marj) Surufka of Griffith & Frank Surufka of Hammond, grandchildren: George Kurtz, Anna Kurtz, Tessa (Johnny) Loncar, Mitchell (Kelly) Blosky, Joey Lynch & Grace Lynch, and great-grandchildren: Theo, Nikolena, John & George.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 1 – 3 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, Valparaiso with memorial eulogy ceremony beginning at 3:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to the SHARE Foundation, P.O. Box 400, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371.
