Sharon L. Dobis, 82, of Valparaiso passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. She was born March 8, 1942, in Gary, IN to Stanley & Genevieve (nee Najowski) Padol and graduated from Tolleston High School in 1960. Sharon was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, their Oasis Club and had been a beloved pre-school aide at Tiny Tim’s Pre-School for 8 years. She relished her 30 plus year membership with Delta Theta Tau service sorority, and always eagerly anticipated attendance at Purdue football games with her husband, Rich, possibly because it was a visit to Purdue’s campus as a high school senior that she first spotted him and never had eyes for any other after that.
On September 30, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gary she married Richard Dobis who survives along with their daughters: Lori Dobis (Kenneth Misher, III) of Lake Barrington, IL, Cindy Leitson (Alan) of Pepper Pike, OH, Deborah Cromer (Jeff) of Valparaiso, sister, Carol Janssen (Dr. Guy), grandchildren: Kenneth Will Misher, IV, Rachel Doupe (Kirk), Amy & Anna Leitson, Madeline Cromer (Logan Davis), Natalie Cromer, her very close friend, Letitia Bella, and many loving nieces, nephews & friends.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 11th from 3 – 7 pm at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday, 10:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1855 Harrison Blvd., Valparaiso. Memorial donations may be made to the SHARE Foundation or St. Paul’s Oasis Club.
