Janet Mae Doud, 90 of Palmetto, FL, and formerly of Valparaiso and LaCrosse, IN, passed away on February 1, 2025 in Bradenton, FL surrounded by her loving children. She was born on December 17, 1934 in Valparaiso, IN to the late Virgil and Mabel (Dunkelbarger) Schroeder and graduated from Valparaiso High School. She was a dedicated homemaker and farmer’s wife, devoting her life to the family farm in LaCrosse and raising her family. From corn to beans and cattle to sheep, they did it all. Bob and Janet made the move to Florida in the late 90’s where they got immersed in the game of shuffleboard, enjoying competitions and socializing with the community. Janet was always a caregiver, not just in raising her children and enjoying time with her grandchildren, but also in taking care of Bob. She will be remembered as a hard worker & faithful woman who would stop at nothing to be there for those she loved.

On May 1, 1954, Janet married Robert “Bob” Bruce Doud, proudly celebrating 70 years of marriage in 2024.
