Marian C. Gallagher, 68, of Valparaiso passed away peacefully at her brother’s home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was born December 1, 1956, in Shreveport, Louisiana, graduated from Valparaiso High School in1973, received a B.A. in Education from Indiana University, Bloomington. Marian made her career as an elementary teacher in Riverside California for over 30 years where her path crossed that of a young girl, Leiloni, who Marian took under her metaphorical wing to raise as if she were her own daughter.
Leiloni survives along with Marian’s mother, Donna Moon of Valparaiso, brothers: Greg (Joy) Gallagher of Valparaiso, Mark (Jovania) Gallagher of Hawaii & Brian Gallagher of Valparaiso, and nieces & nephews: Michelle, Jerhmy, Justin, Nathan, Allison, Bridget & Sean. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Dr. Robert Moon and nephews, Ian & Josh.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a private family celebration of Marian’s life will be held.
