Luz Maria Brys, 76 of Valparaiso, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 5, 1948 in Comerio, Puerto Rico to Ramon and Rosa (Vazquez) Quiles. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and her passion was loving and caring for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
On August 19, 1967, Luz married Jose Brys, Sr. who survives along with their sons, Joe (Tracy) Brys, Jr. and David (Kim) Brys, grandchildren, Sean (Danielle), A.J., Marissa, Jake, Zach, Jordan, and Aubrey; great grandchildren, Bentley, Ford, and Bronx; and her siblings, Florencio, Carmen, Jorge, Migdalia, and Madeline. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Michelle Zimmer.
A Visitation will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso, with a Funeral Service beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to St. Paul Catholic Church, Valparaiso.
