Wallace D. Sherrick, 88, of Wanatah passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. He was born November 17, 1936, in Boone Grove, IN to Leslie W. & Helene (Aylesworth) Sherrick, graduated from Valparaiso High School and served proudly with the U.S. Marines. Wally made his career as an assembler with McGill’s Manufacturing Bearing Division for over 40 years. He had been a member of the Valparaiso Moose Lodge, Eagles Lodge and American Legion Posts in Valparaiso and Wanatah. His meticulous assembly of model trains and planes was a source of pride and a means of relaxation for him. In younger years he enjoyed playing mushball and bowling at Inman’s Lanes where he met and courted DoLores. 

On February 12, 1999 he married DoLores (nee Mertley) Strikwerda who survives along with his children: Becky (Jim) White, Keith Sherrick, Jeffrey W. Sherrick & Patty (Joe) Jonas, step-children: Sandra Woods, Randall (Penny) Strikwerda, Lynn (Mike) Beach, Dawn (Bob) Fry, Beverly (Robert) Richardson, Sherry (John) Theisen, Patti (Larry) Pope, Jayne Johnston (Ted Pfauth) & Susan (John) Adams, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Doug & Scott Sherrick, and his beloved canines, “Muffin” & “Rufus”.

Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory a private family ceremony will be held.
