Gary W. Wallace, 77 of Hebron, IN, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2025, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 20, 1948, in Antioch, CA to the late Olen and Nellie (Hall) Wallace. Gary started his career as an Ironworker with Local 395 for 20 years. He went on to become a Truck Driver for Roadway Express, where he achieved 2 million safe miles in his 22 years. In his youth, Gary enjoyed racing a Formula Atlantic in the Sports Car Club of America. He loved playing the guitar, singing, writing songs, and taking trips to Lake Michigan on the Wallace Family boat. Gary will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and gentle nature. He will be dearly missed.
On April 12, 1969, in Dolton, IL, Gary married the love of his life, Carol Ann Kreis, who survives, along with their twin sons: Bill (Stephanie) Wallace and Sam (Joy) Wallace, both of Valparaiso; grandchildren: Amanda (Brandon) Sutter, Katie Zale, Damon (Dani) Wallace, Blake (Savannah) Wallace, Hope Wallace, Emily Simcich, and Corey Wallace; 1 great-grandson, Easton, and one on the way.
A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Sunday, May 11, 2025, at The Gathering Place, 131 N. Main St., Hebron, with visitation beginning at 12:30 p.m., and a time of sharing at 2:00 p.m. A light luncheon will be served. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gary’s name to the Hebron Little League, P.O. Box 237, Hebron, IN 46341.
