Mary Anne Chalmers, 61 of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana. She was born June 18, 1963, in Lawton, Oklahoma. She lived the majority of her life in Valparaiso, Indiana, before moving to St. Louis, Missouri. Mary was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #2517 in Valparaiso. She was also a loving and caring mother who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children. She will be remembered for her kind heart and the determination she showed throughout her life. Mary will be dearly missed.
On December 4, 1998, in Canada, Mary married the love of her life, Lance Chalmers, who preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by her daughters: Alexis Chalmers, Cassie (Brady) Lange, and her favorite child, her Maltese, Diva, all of St. Louis, Missouri; mother, Marcella Thompson of Valparaiso, Indiana; sisters: Jodi (Larry) Evans of Valparaiso, Indiana, and Terri (Heath) Twigg of Indianapolis, Indiana; nephew, Lucas Twigg; niece, Macy Thompson; and best friend, Mary “Susie” Heinz of Valparaiso, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Thompson, and her brother, Steven Ehlers.
A celebration of Mary’s life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mary’s name to the VNA Hospice of NWI, 501 Marquette Street, Valparaiso, IN 46383.
