Joseph “JP” Polito, 68 of Porter, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Wednesday, May, 14, 2025.  He was born in Gary, Indiana to Joseph and Lois Polito on April 4, 1957. JP graduated from Chesterton High School and made his career in the towing industry for 34 years.  He enjoyed playing pool, building bird houses, feeding birds, and fishing.  Most of all, JP loved spending time with family, especially his love of 41 years, Diana.

On September 25, 1999 Joseph married Diana Blystone who survives along with their children, Trina Blank, Tiffany (Keith) Farrington, Tabatha (Jake) Smaluk, Kenneth “Kenny” (Hollie) Polito; grandchildren, Taylor Blank, Tara (Neal) Bewley, Kody Farrington, Elizabeth Smaluk, Kaden Polito, Donny Paterson, Danica Paterson, Kamren Polito, Kaleb Farrington, Lyric Smaluk, and Gavin Smaluk; great grandchildren, Mya Trevino, Sawyer Smith, Owen, Bewley, Elliott Bewley, and Lincoln Bewley; sisters: Shirley (John) Powell and Joanne Polito; and many loving nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Tom McNeil; and granddaughter, Brooklynn Smaluk; and sister-in-law, Barb Dickey. 

Cremation will take place at Angelcrest Crematory and a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
