Nancy Lynn Sellers, 78, of Wanatah, Indiana formerly of Valparaiso, Indiana passed Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. She was born November 7, 1946, in Buffalo, New York to Walter & Loretta (Schultz) Grotke. Nancy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wanatah and a former member of Heritage Lutheran Church in Valparaiso. Known as a warm, friendly and compassionate person, Nancy left a lasting impression on those she knew. She had a knack for crafts and a wonderful gift of creativity especially when it came to knitting, crochet and cross stitch. Her never-ending love and devotion to her late husband Larry and all her precious 4-legged companions over the years, Max, Zachary, Teco, Buddy and Maggie May will remain a testament to her kind and caring spirit.
On August 8, 1987, she married Larry A. Sellers who preceded her in death on December 20, 2019. Survivors include her siblings: Janet Wade of Valparaiso & Robert Grotke of Montour Falls, New York, sisters-in-law: Barbara (Alan) Neidlinger & Patricia (Jon) VanDerWeele, brother-in-law, Allen (Pam) Sellers, and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, father & mother-in-law, Arnold & Thelma Sellers, and infant sister-in-law, Sharon Sellers.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 23rd from 10 – 11 am at CDT at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 15496 S. 900 W., Wanatah, IN 46390 with memorial service beginning at 11:00 am, Rev. Joel S. Zipay officiating with burial of urn to follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, VNA Hospice of NWI or Parkinson’s Foundation.
