Vanessa A. Fabian, 55 of North Judson, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025. She was born November 4, 1969, in Gary, Indiana to Thomas & Carol (Edwards) Barnack and graduated from Merrillville High School in 1988. Vanessa made her career as a paralegal with Anthony Tavitas in Munster for over 20 years, and currently in the law office of Patrick Young. Her beloved granddaughter, Olivia, had become the focus of her attention these past 10 months. Her caring and loving nature lent itself perfectly to that of a caregiver, which she embraced. To say that she loved shopping would be an understatement. And ironically, she endeared herself to others with her honest and unfiltered opinions which were liberally shared with her family and friends. Her generosity, compassion and selflessness defined her life and served as a model for others to follow.
On December 5, 1992, she married David Fabian who survives along with their children; Nicholas (Alexis) Fabian of Valparaiso, Matthew Fabian & Maya Fabian of North Judson, granddaughter, Olivia Fabian, her parents, Tom & Carol Barnack of Valparaiso, brothers: Ronald Barnack & Michael (Kathy) Barnack, and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas Barnack, niece, Christine Barnack and nephew, Zachery Barnack.
Following cremation a private family celebration of Vanessa’s life will be held.

I was very saddened to hear of the loss of Vanessa. Fun times were had in Turkey Creek South with Vanessa as kids. We were pretty close friends for awhile. Our last conversation a few years back we talked of getting together. Sorry that never happened. Prayers for her family, very hard to say goodbye to your children like this! Peace be with all of you. -Jennifer Clendenen
