Sandra Lynn Burda, 54 of Valparaiso, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, July 25, 2025. She was born on September 16, 1970 in Hammond, Indiana, and is the daughter of Victoria E. Urban. Sandra was the most amazing daughter, sister, wife, mother, football mom, that anyone could ask for. She always cared for everyone and never put herself first. She enjoyed walks with the family dog, Cash, antiques, crafting, sunflowers, and going shooting with the kids. Sandra loved traveling to Germany and shopping at Chriskindlmarkets Her love and devotion to family and friends will be remembered and greatly missed.
On October 30, 1999, Sandra married Anthony Burda, Jr. who survives along with her mother and stepfather, Vickie and Thomas Urban; children, Rebecca (Ben) Pollock, Alex Burda, and Thomas Burda; and brother, Stephen Hotkiewicz.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 3:00-7:00 PM at Moeller Funeral Home 104 Roosevelt Rd., Valparaiso with a Prayer Service at 6:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

I remember growing up with Sandi in Hegewisch. We attended Henry Clay School and she was one of my friends. She was one of the kindest, sweetest, people on earth. I had the pleasure of working with her and she was someone I could always count on to help guide me through the learning stages and she always meet me with a helping hand, never complaining. I worked with Sandi at Ivy Tech in Valparaiso. Since my name is Sandi too it would cause a bit of confusion now and then. She was a joy to work with & always so helpful.
