Jerry Paul Fieser, Sr., 82, of Hebron passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday, November 28, 2025. He was born December 20, 1942 in South Bend, IN to Riley Paul and Marie (Wood) Fieser; and graduated from Merrillville High School in 1961, where he was a proud member of the Pirates Golf Team.
Jerry started his career as a Roll Turner and ultimately became a Supervisor at US Steel working there for 19 years. His entrepreneurial spirit and talent as a woodworker, then led Jerry to establish Northwest Furniture Service, which served Northwest Indiana and the greater Chicagoland area for over 30 years. He was very proud to have his son Jerry Jr. as a business partner for a good portion of his professional career at Northwest Furniture Service and Carolina House Furniture in DeMotte, Indiana. Jerry devoted his life to his firm belief in Jesus Christ and to his family. He was a loving and selfless husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He always offered a hand, helping his family and friends fix, build, repair or improve any project that needed his expertise.
His generosity and kindness led him to volunteering at the Hebron Country Food Pantry where he was known as a warmhearted, personable, and dependable pillar of the community. Over the years his strong faith showed in his work at his churches, as a Sunday School Superintendent, VBS participant, and in recent years, he stayed active as the Chairman of the Hebron United Methodist Church Board. Jerry also participated in the Midwest Crossroads to Emmaus. He was a loyal member of the Wrong Way Squares of Hebron where he and his dearest wife, Rose, made many lifelong friends while sharing a love of square-dancing. Jerry and Rose were happily married for 58 years until Rose’s passing in 2021. Jerry was a fond observer of and contributor to the American culture – a master morel mushroom seeker, a dedicated gardener, a road warrior (having driven to all the continental United States), and an active taste tester for all of the wonderful, sweet treats coming out of his wife’s kitchen. Over the years Jerry enjoyed beach vacations, fishing trips to Canada, family get-togethers, attending the kid’s sporting events and the Chicago Bears (who very kindly won for his last game).
On September 7, 1963 he married Rose (Fankhauser) Fieser who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving children: Pamela (Fieser) Borovich of Hobart; Jerry (Jayme) Fieser, Jr. of Hebron; grandchildren: Blaize Borovich of London UK, Jay (Chloe) Fieser of Hebron, Nikki (Danny) Mohan of Winfield and Brianne (Nolan) Johnson of Kouts; great-grandchildren: Lila Rose and Ellie Jay Mohan; Carter Paul Fieser; sisters: Sharon Tingloff of Hobart; Carol Fieser of Greenville, WI; brother, Roger Fieser Sr. of Arlington Heights, IL; sisters-in-law, Susan (Reed) Jess of Hebron; Mary Fieser of Greenville, WI and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sibling: Riley David Fieser.
Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, a celebration of life will be held at Hebron United Methodist Church, 202 W. Church St., Hebron on Saturday, December 13, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to The Hebron Country Food Pantry or The Michael J Fox Parkinson’s Research Foundation.
